Rockwood Swendeman – South Portland, Maine
ANANIA & Associates Investment Company LLC acquired Rockwood Swendeman in June 1998 and over a period of four years built the company into a world leader of cryogenic safety relief valves. Under the management of Peter Anania the company successfully expanded its product offering and created new products such as the CryoTree® sub-assemblies, which are manufactured for use on stationary cryogenic storage tanks to isolate safety relief valves and rupture discs in the event they need to be serviced. Peter Anania and Rockwood Swendeman were named the Maine Exporter of the Year in 2000. A&A divested the company in November 2000 after being approached with a substantial offer by a NYSE company, Circor International.
