ANANIA & Associates Investment Company LLC (“AAI”) through its multiple companies,
Sends Cheer from Maine to U.S. Troops in Afghanistan!!
Brian Pendleton is employed at Biovation, (an AAI company) in Boothbay, ME. He honored us all with his service in Afghanistan. Upon his return, he made a request of his fellow employees to organize a care package to be shipped to his former Army unit (2-22th Aviation Regiment 1st Calvary Division).
Brian shared with his co-workers, “When I was deployed in Iraq, care packages sent from home were something that I cherished and looked forward to. Snacks, homemade bake goods, crosswords, magazines and newspapers would circulate every shop when packages arrived. When we had down time on our 12 hour shifts they were not only useful to pass the time, but were comforting. My mother even sent some small toys that she’d got at the Dollar Store, for which I promptly received comments and remarks, but when the opportunity presented itself, plastic parachuting Halloween figures were catapulted from the roofs of shacks and large trucks. Rocket balloons were flying around and for a good hour grown men were playing like children and not thinking about conflict or being away from home.”
The employees of the AAI companies were quick to respond and took this challenge to heart and there was an outpouring of donations for the Afghanistan care package drive. They filled forty-four boxes with a variety of snacks, items for light entertainment such as decks of playing cards, magazines, books, puzzle books, Frisbees, paddle ball, footballs, personal hygiene items, hand written letters and colored pictures from children to the soldiers. An officer, from Maine, in receipt of the package wrote with his thanks: “It was soooo cool man to have my troopies come in there and rip open boxes like kids at Christmas! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it man! These guys were reallllly stoked and I couldn’t have been more proud to explain where they came from! It was awesome man! You guys are the best!!”
“We are very pleased with the success and generosity of our employees who have come through to help such a great cause,” commented Peter V. Anania, Chairman of AAI……
“In addition to the AAI companies of Mega Industries, Lighthouse Imaging, Maine Cedar Log Homes, TrakTec, IMOS, Grow-Tech, mWAVE and Biovation we received some nice items from others including: Micucci Wholesale Foods, Sterling Rope, McCann Fabrication, Maine Manufacturing Association & their Members, Coastal Forest Products, KMA Consulting, Bangor Savings Bank, and several other outside individuals…”
